Assessment is both oral and practical, in the event that any delegate fails to succeed on the course we will offer re-training on another course and re-assessment FREE of charge.
First Aid at Work (3 day)
This course follows the QCF Level 3 syllabus (SCQF Level 6 in Scotland).
The First Aid at Work training course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Identify the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
Describe how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others.
Identify the need for establishing consent to provide First Aid.
Identify the First Aid equipment that should be available in a workplace.
Conduct a primary survey of a casualty.
Assess a casualty’s level of consciousness.
Open a casualty’s airway and check breathing.
Place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position.
Manage a casualty who is in seizure.
Demonstrate Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation using a manikin.
